  • required email address, etc., in form

I know it has sort of been covered in a couple or more threads, but not clearly enough for this rookie.

Can anyone help me set my contact form up so that it checks for and requires a valid email address and telephone number?

    Thanks.

What do you mean a "valid email address and telephone number"? How
do you expect the form to validate them?

For instance, see posts 25 & 26 on the following thread, which sort of started to get into it:

I guess a requirement that only numerals, and dashes or periods be placed in the phone number field, and that fully 10 numerals are in there, as well as that the “@* symbol is in the email field. Maybe a requirement that net, com, or org, etc. follow the @. Whatever can work....

I understand there is the possibility that this level of coding may be beyond what can be done in a help forum, but what I want to guard against is, on the one hand, the legitimate client or potential client who inadvertently messes up, and on the other hand, some nitwit who just feels like clicking the submit button a few hundred times in a row because he can.

      Thanks
