  • Cannot view pages

I have uploaded my pages but get a list of files, my index page is named index.bvp (all lower case) and I can see all the pages in Cpanel in the public_html folder.
If I try to view the index page from within Cpanel I get a webpage that says 'index.bvp' Microsoft Office document
    can anyone help please

    Re: Cannot view pages

name your page index. you do not have to put the extension bvp as voda does that automatically.

No, I didn't name them myself with the ext, I mean that's what it's called now

        Re: Cannot view pages

Have you actually published your pages through BV? The index page shouldn't be called index.bvp when it is in the public_html folder, it should be index.html or index.php.

          Re: Cannot view pages

Yes, I am trying to publish through BV. When I save a page in BV and call it index the 'save as type' box shows BlueVoda Files (*.bvp)
So that's what I've saved it as.
I can see the files in CP within the CGI bin.

Please can someone take a look

            Re: Cannot view pages

did you publish? you can upload pages all day long but if you don't publish from the BV builder you will not see them. you have to publish each page.

              Re: Cannot view pages

Hi, i am sure you are doing it right. But! you are publishing the page & not uploading it. If a BV file was uploaded, it would have this effect of looking like it is on your server as BV wouldnt be able to convert it to html/php "index.bvp.?
              Only a thought!

LOL. You have faster fingers Karen.

saving and publishing are two different things. Make sure you have the correct ip address also.

                    Re: Cannot view pages

I cannot publish from the BV builder as when I click publish my IP address is not in that list. I've already downloaded the latest version (which was suggested to me) but for some reason V 9.2 will not over write my version of 9.1 and I'm not confident of messing in the registry.

                    Please help if you can

if BV is like java, then you have to UNINSTALL all versions of it, then download the new version. I would try uninstalling all blue voda from your control panel on your computer and then download the BV builder. Then see if you can find your ip address. Good Luck.

Right let's stop there. If you cannot publish through BV then your website is not published. There is no chance of viewing your website on the web if have not published it.
