Stuck with Crosshairs

Tried to add menu bar and it would not get out of edit mode.
Deleted that and tried a Go Menu and still could not do anything, but edit.

Idea's ???

when your done editing and want exit "edit mode". just click on blank part of the page.

Tried left and right clicking, closing and reopening program and still just
crosshairs.

What should I try to do???
