Arrrrg! My head is hurting! please help me!!!

Hi there,

I've joined up and got a domain name.

I viewed the intro footage about naming your homepage 'index' - ive done that! - i hit 'save as' and typed in 'index' (no . or html)

Now i want to see my page on the net - i know if i type http://www.mydomainname.com my home page should come up but of course it doesn't! I know i'm missing a big piece of the puzzle here!

Do i have to upoad these pages onto the server and what do i call them?
