  • Publishing with BV 10

I am using Blue Voda 10 now and have a question about publishing pages.

I see on the little window that pops when you click the 'publish' button, you can just publish the HTML files if you want to. I have 4 pages with media players on them set to play large video files. If I publish just the HTML and use Blue ftp to get the video files into the proper and same folder as I published the page HTML, will, when some body goes to that page, have the media player I installed on that page in BlueVoda website builder ,play as planned? Or do I have to publish the page as a whole part, a several hour publishing event.

soon to have 'thealternativesolution.ca' up and running

Hi, once you have uploaded your vidio you only have to pop the link in the filename field of your windows media player. IE: http://www.dnsvideo.ca/Web22.wmv . You don't have to upload the video each time.

Need more info. Everytime in BV 9, I could only publish everything on the page. It took all day some time.
If I ftp the video (the brant report) to the folder I want then set the link in the media player to play 'the brant report' then when I publish only the HTML way, everything will work fine?

Hi, you are far better uploading your videos by FTP just the once & then just placing a link to them in the file field of your player on your BV page. If you make a quick test page with a media player on it & place the link in my last post in the "Filename" field & press preview it will still work. I can put that link in a media player on my site & have it work.
        Regards Chris.

            Re: Publishing with BV 10

BV 10 uploads your video automatically.

            1. You need to select the player (quick time, real player, windows media)
            2. size it to the required dimensions
            3. double click on the button
            4. select your file
            5. publish it...

no need to transfer the file in ftp...
