  • Publishing/index names problem

I had successfully (yea!!) created a website at:

I am now creating another one, and am having problems with publishing.

    THe other should be:

    www.galwoliecottage.com

I was unsure about saving the index pages, so created a folder (in bv) with first index page in (pkk) and folder for second (galwolie). When I try to view pkksystems, it is coming up as galwolie!! And the other address isnt working! I am totally stuck! PLease help!

    Hi,

You have to goto your cPanel > Addon Domain then type in your url
    www.galwoliecottage.com

Then scroll down and configure "Redirect to Url"

Publish you index page to "public_html/galwoliecottage/"

using the same username and password for pkksystms.com
    www.siapamoyanganda.com/
Malaysian Family Tree Website From the
    State of Johor.

thanks ramsey - had just worked that out.

I THINK I have now done all that zuriatman said, and galwolie is still coming up as pkksystems.com. I can find pkk at www.pkksystems.com/index.php

Have I filed them right in BV? Folder for PKK called...... pkksystems, and a folder for galwolie called... galwolie cottage.

You have had a few different comments in your posts and I'm guilty for one of those who can't be bothered to go through what you have and haven't been told.

So I'll tell you from scratch my version...

This is your main site right?

              This is your second site

              www.galwoliecottage.com

Ok... creating an add-on domain (second site)

              Open Control Panel (CP)
              click on Addon Domains

Enter the domain without the www. in the first field (galwoliecottage.com)The next field will self populate when you click on it with 'galwoliecottage'
In the next field (document root) remove the .com from the end of the domain so it just reads pubic_html/galwoliecottage
Put your password in and click OK

Creating new pages for the second site.

Open 'My documents' then your BV file that has the pages for your first site in.
Create a new folder inside there and call it Galwoliecottage
Open up your first blank page in BV and cal it index (all lower case)
Click on 'Save As' and save this index page INSIDE the galwoliecottage' folder. Create and save in this very same folder all your other pages.

              Publishing second site:

Click on publish icon and this will open up your publishing details:

Leave everything as it is already but on the end of your folder field where it says 'public_html' add the following:

              /galwoliecottage

              Then Publish:

Ensure you point the domain to the same servers as your existing site.
Don't aim for success if you want it; just do what you love and believe in, and it will come naturally.
