  • Form Problems

I decided to add a form to my contact page but am having some difficulty.
I did not use the form wizard to create it, I just selected the form icon and adjusted it to the proper size then I added the form elements by clicking on the icons. When I tried to publish it, nothing happened...it didn't publish. I then read you have to change the page properties to php so I did that and it published but there is script on the top left of the page. I couldn't figure out how to fix it so I added page is under construction, and published it but it would not publish the change.

Help....what do I need to do to fix it and get my form to work?

Please explain it as simple as possible as I am new at this!

    Thanks, Jenn

    Re: Form Problems

Did you use the embedded form processor ? If yes, the page needs to be php, other wise the embedded script will appear as code at the top of the page.

    A Link please ?

        Re: Form Problems

The latest version of BV comes with a built in form processor that can process your forms easily. This form processor is automatically used if you have created your form using the Form Wizard.
Double click the form (n BV) and see if the checkbox "Use built in Form Processor" is checked.
If it is, then the page needs to be published as PHP (Page Properties -> Page Extension when Published) other wise the code appears on top of the page.

          Re: Form Problems

I checked the box for "use built in form processor" and I set the page properties to php, this was done the first time I published it but I am not sure where to change the page extension to php when published.

            Re: Form Problems

You already have!! You did it when you set the page properties (to be php). The correct page is http://www.barefootweddings.ca/contactus.php

Now, since the pge is php and not html anymore, simply change the URL in your menus. The Button for "Contact us" should point to http://www.barefootweddings.ca/contactus.php instrad of http://www.barefootweddings.ca/contactus.html

Also, connect with FTP or File Manager, and DELETE the file contactus.html from your site.
