Hi .. you can't really just go ahead and change a domain name, you must let it expire.

Now .. if you want your website to use with another domain name, you will need to redo a few things on your website. All the page linking would need to be changed to contain the new url related to the new domain you might choose ..

If you simply want to purchase another domain name and then redirect this website to the new domain name, this is possible.

Keep in mind you will then be renewing two domain names everyyear ...

Or

You can do this until your current domain name expires and in the meatime be making the changes to the website with the new domain name in the page url ..

Keep in mind too, that if any of your pages have good traffic now with this current domain name you won't want to lose that traffic ..

So a couple of choices there for you ..
