  • Index page question

After reading a lot of threads in this section ive come to think i'm doing it all wrong.

Home page is Index right? i done that, then began creating other pages, about us, email etc, and saved them the same as the page they are named ie about us, email etc.....should i have created some sort of file and named it index and saved everything into that file? ...i'm a bit confused about this ...and is it then that whole file that is uploaded thro ftp to be published?

Also i'm currently working on my .co.uk site, when i go to create the pages for my .com site even tho it will be the same site just linked and with slightly different content do i need to have a second index file for that?

    Thank you

    Re: Index page question

No, you're on the right path... just a single page saved as index (but named whatever you want in Page Properties), no need to create a new folder or anything of the like.

Anytime you have a new domain or sub domain, you will need a page saved as index.

        Re: Index page question

You can publish it anytime you like, I do it all the time. If it's something you want to see but don't necessarily want your visitors to see just yet, save it as something different from what you're linked to. For instance, I'm working on a total revamp of my site, but since I still have lots of work to do, my new index page is currently named "future".
