  • Websafe Fonts

    Hi everyone,

I have just realised the importance of websafe fonts!

That is not to say i particularly like websafe fonts!

Using Firefox, my fonts look ok but using IE it all goes a bit wrong.

    If you'd like to have a look - http://www.swiftsaleproperty.com

I guess the easiest way around this is to turn the fonts and text which don't transfer well from browser to browser in to images.

However, i'm not sure what the easiest and quickest way to do this is, could someone shed some light on it for me please?

    Thanks in advance:)

    Re: Websafe Fonts

please be aware that if you change your text (content) to images then that will affect the way that the search engines see your site.

The way to do it is:

    select the text
    right click
    properties
    convert to image box
    Have fun
    Regards..... David

      Re: Websafe Fonts

Thanks for the tip and advice David.

The only text i've changed to an image is a couple of titles which i prefer in a certain font for better presentation, the rest will be normal text.

Out of interest, how will the text i've turned into an image be seen by SE's?

      Thanks

        Re: Websafe Fonts

It will be seen as an image and NOT text so NO titles picked up.

          Re: Websafe Fonts

.... that is why it is important to be disciplined in properly "Titling" your images within a precise page-specific relevance strategy as part of your overall basic optimization methodology.

ALL images can be "Titled" (including Logomaker, or PNG) by "opening" them outside of BV and "re-saving as" whatever_title_is_appropriate, being very sure to preserve the file extension (.png, .gif, etc.).

Ok, thanks Vasili, how can I give the converted image a title, and should the title be the same as the text that is now an image?

              Re: Websafe Fonts

Most often, the image titles include some page-specific Key Words, or are directly relevant to the Content itself and which it is "supporting." Not a hard concpet to grasp, but an essential one to implement to make progress to designing your site to be more effective, efficient, and more valued (conforming) toward the Perfect Page Model Google is always on the prowl to find .... if the build is weak, it matters not how unique or deep the Content is, as the SE's see the entire resource as indicative of the overall credibility and that is how they decide on "position" and "rank": which site is more likely to produce the best data results for their Search Clients.

              G'Night, and your welcome!

                  Re: Websafe Fonts

Sorry to barge in here, but how do you open the text you have generated in BV and converted to an image OUTSIDE of BV.
