  • Can I unlink or unpublish pages?

I've started a new thread because this problem is specific rather than general about hyperlinking. I have published all my pages and the links work fine except for 2. (I did make 4 errors but I was able to correct the others.) I have renamed the pages, tried to override the original links re-saved and republished.
But the wrong hyperlink keeps coming up and goes to a not found page. If I directly go in with the correct URL, they come up. Just not when I try to link from index. (the error I typed in originally was http://wwwspanishverbsmarthours.com/c_zcao.html and http://wwwspanishverbsmarthours.com/c_zcao1.html
obviously I left out a dot. I have since renamed them 3 and 4, republished, re-linked, etc...but I can't get out of the original error. The address to my home page is http://www.spanishverbsmarthours.com/index.html
and the links are "c zc a o" and "c zc a o(1)" now named in the system as
    http://www.spanishverbsmarthours.com/c_zcao3.html and

Please help. I'm really stuck here

    Thanks,
    KIm

Sure.. log in to cpanel... file manager.. and delete all the pages you dont want. or delete them all.. then republish. If you arent sure what to do .. put in a support ticket for account reset and then you can publish on a clean slate.

      Hi,

Through C-Panel you can delete any and all pages, images, etc. just be careful as to which you delete so you wont need re-install.

Are all other changes you made on this page successfully changed and only the links not working properly still or have none of the changes appear after publish?

Did you try to refresh your browser after the change?

How about clearing your cache and browsing history after the re-publish?

I notice where you are seeing the missing (.) below:

-Remember to either save and publish this a page (after correction) to the exact same folder with the exact same name then try my refresh options, manually type in the link and check it, then try it again from hyper link and see what you get.

-Try these and If they still dont work I will look at your site more carefully.

      Good Luck - DM

Maybe you can help. I have been told that all my pages must be the same size 800 x 600 so I'm going to work on doing that. However right now each page is linked to a another page, so they have to go back to the index to get to the next page. I have been truing to find simple straight forward instruction on how to do that. At one point I was told use a transparency over the pages (on which have very little text and the tables). That worked at the time, but I want to link the page sequentially as well. And now I'm being told that linking the page as a transparency causes problem.

So I'm going to unpulish right now and chance the pqge lengths and hope to hear from you.

            the 800 x 600 is only a guide..........your page width can be between 800 - 900
The length can be what ever you wish.

On your home page you have a menu which links to every other page....so now that you have a little more width, why not put the same menu on each page.
Take off/delete the transparent shapes and let the menu do the work.

There is also a trick wherby you only need one copy of the menu
for ALL the pages.....but this may be a little ambitious for you at the moment as I know that you are trying to get your site operational quickly.
            Have fun
            Regards..... David
