You cant. Its an html "attribute" and you cant use it out of context.

Re: rel="nofollow" and the link button

Personally.. NO. The no follow attribute was developed for blogs, wiki's and forums where people were allowed to post freely and sometimes spam links. "no Follow" didnt do a thing to stop the spammers, they are still posting ****py links. Who cares if the SE dont go there.. they just want your visitor to go there. By using the no follow attribute you in effect said i dont vouch for this site. Now its become used for every thing from trying to "SILO" page rank and using it on links to site inner pages, to using it for affiliates and other links, even tho you supposedly put it there to ENHANCE the info etc on your site. The no follow does NOT mean the SE wont save that link and follow it later, and its overuse and improper use has lessened its validity to the point where its just extra work to use it.

Always remember this.. If its of use to your customer or viewer.. then its good for your site. If its not, then why is it on your site to begin with? If you are doing it to improve your SERPS will that improve your customer relationships? How will the customer know you SENT THEM a link, but you told the SE NOT to use it. Whats wrong with that picture? Think the SE who are getting SMARTER every day with technology wont take this into account when ranking your site?

Ive TRIED to tell you and so has Beth about your page names and titles. You dont listen or dont care to listen, and have blamed everything including your hosting company for your loss of rank and traffic. I guess when you finally get blacklisted for running with the less than desirable search engine tactics and a lead balloon falls on your head you will wake up.

BTW... do you really think your customer or anyone else is going to remember a 20 word URL? Yanno even PORN sites dont do that and theres a website called TINY URL which redirects sites to SHORT urls, and here u are making them next to impossible.

Re: rel="nofollow" and the link button

ok karen what is the best way to change the name of the pages with out losing traffic and causing duplicate content?

are these the steps to doing it..

1 republish the pages under new names..
2 create a 301 redirect from the old pages to the new ones.
            3 delete the old ones

            or

1 republish the pages under new names..
2 use this code on the old pages and leave them balnk and dont delete them
            <META HTTP-EQUIV=Refresh CONTENT="0; URL=http://www.site.com/new.php">

Which way do you think will that be the most effective way and safest way so i dont hurt my serps?

            thanks

Re: rel=&quot;nofollow&quot; and the link button

The first one. Meta tag is temporary while the htacess is permanent redirect.

Re: rel=&quot;nofollow&quot; and the link button

                thanks for the advice..

                i have another question

                how does site.com/index.php become site.com?
                does this make sense ?
i was reading somewhere that google sometimes reads it as a duplicate page/content is this true?

and how does BV handle this situation?

                Thanks

Re: rel=&quot;nofollow&quot; and the link button

BV handles this situation just fine. Simply make the links in you navigation for the HOME page to site.com instead of yoursite.com. You can tell Google your preferred usuage, with or without the www.

While you are doing the htacess file you can also redirect it there if you think its an issue.

The server is set by default to ecognize the index page as the page to display when the .com is entered.

That should have read.. your site.com instead of yoursite.com/index.html
