Removal of HTML code

Hi
I added a counter to my index page and, not having a clue as to what I was doing, inserted it directly into the HTML on the index page, ie, not using the HTML box. I now wish to remove it. Any help as to how to do this much appreciated.

Right click on a blank area of the page, select page html and click each tab until you see the code you added and delete it. Save the page and republish.

It worked!!!! Many many thanks. I thought that I was in a real mess there. Now to get to work to do it properly. In other words RTFM.
