  • Accepting online payments other than paypal

We are currently accepting online payment using paypal which is very good, but it seems alot of our customer in ireland do not have a credit card so they cannot purchase any of our products or services. I was going to set up a payment gateway account online but i was told i will need to set up a merchant account with my bank before i do that. I have contacted my bank and they said i have to fill out an application form and pay so much money each month including other costs, etc. This sounded like to were asking for alot just so we can accept laser cards from customers in ireland. Alot of people in ireland use laser card and i don't think it would be worth paying alot of money to set up an online payment gateway so i can accept other payment methods for the price the banks are charging.

I am already accepting payments through paypal so its a pity don't do not accept laser. I need to add more payment options though.

    Any cheaper solution for this?

Without a merchant account.. which will also require dedicated ip and SSL in addition to the banking and gateway fees... not going to be much you can do.

You could consider wire transfer, check and money order via the mail
