  • need help, am trying to do a "drop cap"

    Hi,

I built my site from scratch and my text areas are in "shape" boxes.

I want to make a drop cap, and have done so in "MSN Word" but, now the program in "shape" where I past my text won't read the drop cap.

Is there anyway a (correct) drop cap can be made for a Blue Voda page?

My site is www.elegancereclaimed.com and where I am trying to put the drop cap is in my "Profile" page and the "Policies" page.

Large initial letter followed by smaller copy; the cap extends the depth of two or more lines. (Looks just like the text icon in BV.)

Probably has to be done in three boxes: the cap itself, the copy to the right of the cap and the copy below both. I don't see a drop cap formatting option in BV10, at least.

Hi and thanks for the quick replies...

Hi Karen, to your question- what Tom said.

Hi Tom, thanks, and yes I was hoping to avoid going through all of that, but, maybe that is the only way it can be acheived...

        Thanks again!

I think she is referring to a function found in Office/Word 2007, which produce Leading Paragraph Capitals as in "illuminated" text, as shown in the Word 2007 snapshot below:

What she is trying to accomplish will have to be "handmade" in Blue Voda, essentially layering text in different sizes and positions.

Thank you Vasili, and yes that is exactly what I wanted to do and have since done. <grin>
