  • Google v Firefox

When I search one of our keywords [architect chichester] using IE and Google, our index page comes up around no.25 {it will get better !) but the index page doesn't appear in Firefox when searching with Google.
    Why is that ?

It's coming up around no.6 in Yahoo.

The good news is that you are NO:2 in my yahoo. lol But must admit! no joy with Google. Not sure if you still have UK offices or base, but have noticed that Google often brings up a map on the search when a place name is mentioned. It might be worth you placing a Google map (or 2 if France is a bonus) with you details on your site & see if this helps google picks up on your site. Even if its just has the words Architect, Sussex, Chichester & a real but fictitious post code with contact phone numbers.
    Regards Chris.

      Re: Google v Firefox

The current position I get with Google+IE7 is about no.40 but with Google+FF there is nothing. Is there a significant difference in the searches between IE7 and FF ?

We'll be opening a new office quite soon so we'll use that address and postcode for Googlemaps

        Re: Google v Firefox

Must admit that i am not sure why! But IE & FF are just the browsers & not the SE's. But for some reason this possibly might have a bearing.

Just tested Google search in Firefox.

          You are NO. 1.

But when I search for "Architect-UK",
your site does not appear in the first ten pages.

You need to improve your tags and search phrases.

Thanks to all - at least some of you out there can find the site - but it still doesn't answer the question:

"Why The Difference between IE7 and FF ?"

Index page is no.40 on Google+IE7 but index page nowhere to be found with Google+FF. (Only the projects page, one link down from index page, is appearing).

OK - so the index page has finally appeared using Google+FF, albeit way down the list ! Must try harder with the SEO !
                  Thanks to all who replied.

                    Re: Google v Firefox

Well I trust firefox more than the google. Firefox has tons more features. Firefox is the heavyweight browser, with incredible stability and a massive index of user made add-on's and faster too. These days the selection of an explorer is mainly based on personal preference. Just look arround which seems to be the most comfortable to use. Though both browsers share near similar features, I still prefer Firefox.
