Help With Facebook Link

I followed directions on how to add a Facebook link to your website.
I copied the HTML plugin code from Facebook, added a HTML button on my webpage pasted the code, re sized the botton and placed it near the bottom of the webpage. I saved the page and publishised it, but it shows nothing there when I look at the webpage.
