  • Key Word Digger

Howdy Diddly Doodly! I used the keyword digger and i have three questions regarding keywords.

    1) Does each individual word have to be seperated by a comma or are two word keyword entries left with a space in between and then a comma?
    Example( ...,softball tournaments,...) or (...,softball,tournaments,...)

    2) The keyword digger gave me alot words all of which are asscociated with a search for my website. Is there a maximum number i can use or can i use them all.

    3) And finally, is there a way of arranging the keywords to better your sites posting on the search pages? Ideally i would at least like to be in the top 20 or first page of the search engine results! Any advice, tips or tricks would be greatly appreciated!

    Many thanks, Theopod.

1 - put a comma after the keyword phrase in those cases.
2 - you will have trouble trying to optimize for too many keywords. As for the keyword meta tag, do NOT put any words in the meta tag that aren't on the page in question. I suggest you optimize for no more than 2-4 keywords/keyword phrases per page - so you'll put different keywords in the meta on different pages.
3 - it's up to you HOW you use the words in your pages, titles, headlines and text. How you use them and how you use them in anchor text linking back to you - will be what determines how well you do for them on the search pages. And - it will take much longer to be found on the se's search pages within Google, no matter what you do - but what you do will still be what determines it.

If you simply put the keywords in your meta tags without doing any of the rest, you'll not be found for any of them.

I stand to be corrected but would answer your queries thus:
syntax for meta keywords = keyword, keyword, keyword, keyword

Personally, after reading many posts on the subject, I would limit yourself to the best twenty or so.

Arrange them in any order but I would start with the words you think will be search for the most.

Amanda, you are correct - but a keyword phrase is considered one keyword - therefore input as softball tournament, softball game, etc not softball, tournament etc
