  • Vertical drop down menus

I have recently changed my menus from horizontal to vertical.

They work fine, but after a new page is presented on the web, the menu first appears as a smaller size, and then "jumps" to it's full size. The effect is not professional.

The menu size and position in BV website builder is not the same as in the published version. The website builder shows a smaller version of the menu, and slightly the the left of the final published version.

There was no similar symptom in horizontal mode. Has anyone else had this problem?

    Regards,
    Royden

      Re: Vertical drop down menus

      Hi,
I renamed the jscookmenu to "old" and deleted every BV0nnnn.gif from the server, and republished every page. The republish did include one case of deleting the menu, and rebuilding.
The problem is still there. It has something to do with the "insert split". If you look at Discover/The Golden Mean on my site, I have removed the splits from the menu on this page, and it is fine.

        Hi,
I have just created a vertical drop down menu with splits, on a blank page. In preview mode it behaves as it should. So I guess the published mode should be the same.
Please tell me where to delete in file manager.
        Regards

You will need to delete the entire page from your public.html folder, through BlueFTP (BV>Tools>BlueFTP). Then re-publish your new page.

Thanks Girlonthehill. I have done this with one page, and the menu still had the 'jump' effect in spite of a CTRL + F5.
            I'll carry on fiddling

              I have found the circumstances!
Drop down vertical menus with 'splits' combined with a page transition of "blend" makes all the menu styles jump before presentation.
              Please try it for yourself.
