changing styles

Hi
I've tried to change the style of my text links on one page but whatever I do with the hyper link syle sheet the page property settings over rule it. I have redone it several times and published as I know that you have to do that. What is really frustrating is that on another page I set the new style fine.
If anybody has any ideas.....Please help

I have cracked it! sorry for time wasting... I found a post from paolo where I noticed the new_style name joined with an underscore. Now it works
