Do I have to purchase a new Domain for a mobile website?

Hi, I have a BV account and just found out that for my site to be properly accessible via mobile devices I have to have a mobile website? I am looking through the forums... and a Soholaunch account is needed to create a mobile website? linking my desktop to a mobile not possible?
Please advice and thank you. I apologize for my lack of knowledge....

No, you can create a subdomain, like:

m.(yourdomainhere.com)

Then direct all mobile traffic there through your .htaccess file, we can do this for you if you open a ticket!
