As I am constantly changing an adding on to my (never to be finished) site, and I don't want to do things out of sequence, when is the right time
to submit site to vodahits for search engine entry? Should each page have different meta tags?

1) You can subit your site as soon as you feel it is ready, not before, when is it ready??? This is for you to decide.

2) Yes, the keywords on every page should be targeted for the content of that particular page.

Meta on every page is very important, not just keywords - but the title and description are the most important. Each page will be found and used as a portal by the se's.

BTW, se's love seeing changes all the time - so making revisions etc is a good thing all the time. And, in my opinion, a website is never done!

I can see that only too well. I was thinking (a new experence) that SEs might also position gallerys by size, in which case I should finish my galleries first.

Is there a way for me to see a real functioning sites page discriptions and tags?

Have a look at bethers site and then select
View then source (in your browser menu)
and the page with the source code should open up
and then you can see good examples of TITLE, Page DESCRIPTION and KEYWORDS..............
