In Ed's answer, he tried to make it clear that you dont use the upload icon(there are 2) to upload, you select that icon when you wish to create an upload field on a form.

The "File Upload" tool on the top tool bar opens an extra exe file which enables you to UPLOAD or DOWNLOAD files from your computer to any specified directory on your website, and the reverse.
Its basically a File Transfer Program......................
There is also another not so well known way of transfering files from your computer at the same time as you publish a page.(saves opening BV FTP)
This can be found on the left hand side toolbar. (see vodahost videos)

You add the upload file to a form you create (same as any other form), it will then be sent you via email which you save in your computer.
