  • Adding Location to Page HTML

    Recently I read somewhere that Google does not use "site location" when crawling a website but Bing does. What I'm referring to is the use of certain meta names in the page html such as:
    <meta name="geo.position" content ="28.5555556; -82.4505556" />
    <meta name="geo.placename" content="Spring Hill, Florida USA" />
    etc.
    Do you think adding "location" to ones' website would be worthwhile?
    (I searched the forum for previous queries on this but couldn't find anything).

    Re: Adding Location to Page HTML

    Yes, it is important for localized results.

    In example, you may be in the 20th page of results for your keywords worlwide, but in the first page for local results in Spring Hill !

          Gen. Navaldesign is in Italy, and although Paul is Spring Hill, I am in Boot Ranch (Pal m Harbor/Oldsmar), and likely the most local to you by far!

            Ah, I just noticed that! Yeah man, you're not too far! I'm sort in between Tampa and Brandon.
