ok.. how are you purchasing? how is it completing the order? Whats the order status? Does it change when you COMPLETE the order?

Edit the item.
Go to the advanced tab.
Under "When customers add this product to their cart, require Form Data from:" make sure "per qty" is selected.

Another thing it could be is if you are paying by check or money it will not decrease.

OR paypal. As it doesnt complete the order because you have to wait for the money to clear.

Thank you all for your help. Yes I am having them pay with check or money order and I am using paypall. Is there anything thing I can do so that only one customer can buy the product. Help

Below is what I was told on the Soholaunch forum site when I asked about the issue. My solution was to stop accepting checks and money orders.

"I understand this is deliberate when using the check money order option. I had my hosting company modify the code so as the inventory amount decrease using this option.

Thank you Vegus Ray for your help, so what you are telling me is I can not use checks or money orders on my site, my hosting site is voda host. I wish they would tell you these things before you go to all the effort of setting up your site and then find this out.

No you can use them.. just as soon as you get the order go change the amount available or change the code or have it done.

Thank you Karen, but how will this stop 2 people from buying the same item if I do not catch the order right away and what do you mean by or have it done? Sorry but I am such a dunce to this first web site no experience in this.

This is what the solution reports on the bugz site:

"Add the following code to pgm-payment_gateway.php in the check/money order loop to decrease inventory on purchase.(around line 1740)

# Count down the inventory for all products ordered
include("pgm-inventory.php");

As for adding the inventory back you would need to modify view_invoice.php in the $cancel_order != "" loop to increment the inventory back."

I don't know if it works or not. I never tried it. Also this was posted on their site back in July 2006 so the line # in step 1 could be very different now. Bugz is a good site to find fixes and to report issue. I would recommend the site if you want to look at bug reports and fixes.
