  • Third Time Lucky!

    www.deezeedesigns.com.au

This is the third and last re-vamp of my site. I initially built it with Blue Voda but found Soholaunch to be much better and more suited to what I was selling.

I would appreciate a bit of feedback from people before I add too many more products.

I do have a couple of questions which someone may be able to help me with.

    1. The date is set to US and doesn't change over to a new day until after lunch Aussie time - it's on the actual template so not sure how to go about changing that - or even if it can be done.

    2. I added a plugin for 'bank deposit' and it doesn't appear on the right hand side bar (once you have actually gone into a product's detailed description) - it only says Paypal and Money Order/Cheque). Not really a problem but thought I would see if there was a way.

    3. I would like a 'view cart' button on the actual template so customers can view their cart any time - rather than have to go into another product description.

Apart from those 3 items, I have to say I LOVE the program - it's very easy to use and has some great features!

Since this is your third and final revision, we guess there is no purpose in offering any suggestions!

When you decide to accept additional suggestions, let us know. We will suggest changing your page order on your menu bar.
    Sincerely,

      Re: Third Time Lucky!

What I mean't was I don't plan on re-vamping it from scratch again because I've done that twice and I was generally happy with the overall look.

I am more than happy to get some opinions/advice and make changes that are deemed necessary by all the helpful vodahost customers/professionals, or else I wouldn't have bothered posting.

        Hey Donna,
I am quite sure you will want to restructure your side bar links. For instance, the privacy policy tab should be at the bottom, not on the side. And, the order in which a person experiences different occassions in their life should determine the order of your selections. And, place Home, contact us, and about us at the bottom of the list.

        Here is good advice:
Look at Hallmark and your other online card competitors. See what tabs they use and note the order of their tabs; that is your industry standard (or industry rules). The more you diviate from what the competition does, the less credible you will appear to the customer.
        Sincerely,

          Re: Third Time Lucky!

It's kinda hard to look for topics on your menu.

You already have hooks to simplify it.

Your vertical menu items can be just:

          BABY
          BRIDAL
          BIRTHDAY
          RELIGIOUS
          SPECIAL OCCASIONS
and so on. The ones that you have in UPPERCASE.

The rest of the items on the menu, you already have pages for them.

It will be easy for visitors to go through the menu and
understand what you want to do.

          On the horizontal menu,
you can have Home, About us, Contact us, Privacy policy, Newsletter signup and links. You know, the administrative part.

Then Remove the items on the vertical menu that you transferred to
          the horizontal.

That will simplify and clean the menu.

            Re: Third Time Lucky!

Thank you both for your suggestions.

They make perfect sense and I will try to implement them as soon as I can.

In fact, I only just changed the left hand side menu bar - originally it was just the main headings in uppercase but then I thought perhaps people may want to go straight to certain items rather than go to the subcategory page first.

I will change it back though because I wasn't liking it much either.

I appreciate the comments - I realise these websites are constantly ongoing and never seem to be finished! I am always wanting to improve on what I've already done and can't see that ever changing.

            Thanks again!
