This tutorial will guide you on how to create a MySQL database in cPanel. For the purpose of this guide, we'll presume that you're currently in cPanel hosting and therefore are viewing the primary display.

Let us begin to learn how to create a MySQL database in cPanel. Scroll down the cPanel hosting screen and select the MySQL Databases icon underneath the Databases section. Once you have selected MySQL Databases a new display will appear the MySQL Databases page.

To start to create a database, the first step is to type the database name you wish to use in the box next to the New Database under the Create New Database section and select Create Database button. The database has now been created and we now need to create and add a user to this database.

Let's go back to the MySQL Databases page, by selecting Go Back underneath the confirmation notice.

Scroll down the page till Add New User section, type a new user to be added to your database within the box labeled Username, enter a password and re-enter the password for confirmation, and then select Create User.

A display will appear with confirmation that the new user has been created and we now have linked this user to the database. Let's go back to the MySQL Databases page, by selecting Go Back. Check to make sure the correct user and correct database are selected under the Add User to Database section of your screen. Please note that the username of the hosting account has been added to the beginning of both the user and the database with an "_" underscore between them. Click Submit to add the user to the database.

A new display will appear, MySQL Account Maintenance, where you will select to assign All Privileges to the user, and select Make Changes button. Your page will refresh with notice of the user being added to the database successfully.

You may return to the MySQL Databases page at any time to setup more databases, adding or removing users, and/or delete any databases
