  • Page linking error message.

Hi again , I would just like to see if any one can help with this, when I look for my site on the web, the web site does not show, I have to copy or type the site name this is becouse the domain has to pre- somthing or another,

Well this in mind my problem is I have made 2 pages to my web so far. I wanted to link the second page to the first and I published both pages, my first page was named index.bvp and second page was saved as contacts.bvp, I did exactly as the tin said and linked the second page in the link box following the all steps http://www.mysitename.com/contacts.html.

I go to the homepage and click the link fo rthe second page and i get this message...
    404 Not Found

The server can not find the requested page:
    208.43.222.135/~theworld/contacts.html (port 80)
Please forward this error screen to 208.43.222.135's WebMaster.
    Apache/2.2.16 (Unix) mod_ssl/2.2.16 OpenSSL/0.9.8e-fips-rhel5 mod_bwlimited/1.4 Server at 208.43.222.135 Port 80

Could this be somthing to do with my site not proper in the system or have I done the linking to a page with-in the site wrong.

Can someone shed some light. Cheers x

    Re: Page linking error message.

I have gone back into the home page, opened up the tab I want the link to the second page to, and typed in the link tab, http://www.thefirstonlinechristmastr.../contact1.html which should then let me from the this link open up the contact page, but I now get a message Firefox can't find the server at www.thefirstonlinechristmastree.com.

Is this down to my account is still in proporgating mode. Thanks.

      Re: Page linking error message.

(Are you sure your Contact page is not supposed to be http://www.thefirstchristmastreeonline.com/contact.php ?? That is how it should be saved and linked, if you are using a Contact Form created by the BV Wizzard, not as .html,)

As I mentioned to you yesterday, your account was transacted only on the 4th and you have not even received the official Welcome email with all your account info.

Last post by you was that you did not even have a proper User Name and Password to allow you to properly access your account.

      Has anything changed?

Since this is a Holiday Weekend here in the US, I doubt you will have your hosting account fully established until Tuesday (the next business day after your transaction was processed), let alone have your Support Ticket replied to with a Password to an account that has not been fully created yet.

Again .... wait until you have received your official Welcome email from VodaHost with all your information, and please refrain from creating multiple threads regarding the same issue.

        Re: Page linking error message.

I can see your contact page in http://www.theworldsfirstonlinechris.../contact1.html

so I believe that you have solved your issues ?

Please note that your menu bar has other pages opening in a popup, which, further more, has fixed dimensions that will not contain the entire page, so you will probably want to change them.

Opening pages in popups could mean that the pages will not open for some users, as they have popup blockers set to On to avoid all those annoying advertisement popups.
