Just wondering if you did have time to check the ror link on my web page. Did it need correction? In the case you did not find it, I hyperlinked it with the image of book that is on my index page...but I am not sure if I did it allright. Can you let me know?

Dear Brad,

I got your message with regards to the site map software.

I have a relatively simple site, The site is published and functional (for the purpose) and I am (and will be) adding pages as new information and documentation is made available.

Do I need to use the ROR software to create a site map? Or can I simply create and upload in my public_html a file called site_map containning links to the various pages of the site? Would that provide the same information to search engines?

For a simple site you do not really need a site map. A site map is a
MUST HAVE for sites that have pages that are not linked for there
homepage...3-4 pages, I would not bother.

Thanks for the info about ROR. I have been using Tarrant IT site map generator with some success. Do you recommend using ROR as well, or would that just confuse things?

One sitemap generator is enough, if your happy with your current one, there is no need to switch over.

Yeah...Them ROR folks come up with some pretty neat little products. Don't you think?

I have already installed .NET 2.0 on my machine and can't load the pgm. will there be a release that will run on the 2.0 install? The product seems really nice I can't wait to use it!

Thanks for the reply.
In fact, even though my site is simple in format (all pages are linked to my homepage), I have to date approx. 50 pages and ultimately there will be hundreds.
Would this mean that a site map is a must?

Sorry I missed something in my reply: Not all pages are linked to my homepage, in fact only a few are (less than 10).
Is a site map then a must?

That will work.

Why google doesn't bring my website up even if I ask directly for it? It says that there is no such site.

Have you asked us to submit your website to Google? If yes, please allow
6-8 weeks for indexing, if no..this is why.

I did not :( know that it needs to be submitted, can you please do it.
Or do I need a special link for it?

OK, I have added the sitemap, and linked it to the copyright image on the bottom of my home page.. Can someone check to see if it is working right.

Also, do I still need to open a support ticket to submit my website to Google?

As always, THANKS VODAHOST for being the BEST! Just a quick question: anytime we update our site (add new links, etc), should we then re-run ROR, too (and thus upload the new file via Blue FTP)?

Also, do we just open a support ticket when we are ready to take advantage of our one-time search-engine submission which is part of our hosting package?

Regarding the link from the homepage to: http://www.YourDomain.com/ror.xml where does it go? Page properties?

Click on the link below to download an XML image >> http://www.create-website.info/images/xml.gif

www.vodahost.com/zips/xml.zip

Add the image to your homepage and hyperlink to your ror.xml

Because I've had little luck with Google, (other SEs, OK) I decided to add ROR. According to their instructions, after creating the xml site map & uploading, I tried to insert the link

I downloaded the program to create a sitemap, but when I go to install the program it gives me this message [this setup requires the . NET Framework version 1.1.4322] Then it sends me to a page to download that update and I cannot figure out what one I need. Can you help me?

Is there anyway someone can check this for me to make sure it is correct as I have tried to access my webpage from the google and Yahoo search engines and it does not come up, thanks

What is your ROR file linked to? I can't find it. Do not just insert it in the header, also hyperlink it from your index page.

I followed the instructions to create and save the site map. I viewed the insturctions how to add it to the FTP Manager. Then I linked the sitemap to my home page [ www.goldenleaf-lighting.com/ror.xml and when I click on it I get [NOT FOUND] My site is www.goldenleaf-lighting.com the link is on Copyright. What did I do wrong?
