Margarine was originally manufactured to fatten turkeys. When it killed the turkeys, the people who had put all the money into the research wanted a payback so they put their heads together to figure out what to do with this product to get their money back. ! It was a white substance with no food appeal so they added the yellow colouring and sold it to people to use in place of butter. How do you like it? They have come out with
some clever new flavourings.

DO YOU KNOW.. the difference between margarine and butter?

Read on to the end...gets very interesting!

Both have the same amount of calories.
Butter is slightly higher in saturated fats at 8 grams compared to 5 grams.

Eating margarine can increase heart ******* in women by 53% over eating the same amount of butter, according to a recent Harvard Medical Study.!

Eating butter increases the absorption of many other nutrients in other foods.
Butter has many nutritional benefits where margarine has a few only because they are added!
Butter tastes much better than margarine and it can enhance the flavours of other foods.
Butter has been around for centuries where margarine has been around for less than 100 years .

And now, for Margarine..

Very high in trans fatty acids .

Triple risk of coronary heart ******* .
Increases total cholesterol and LDL (this is the bad cholesterol) and lowers HDL cholesterol, (the good cholesterol)

Increases the risk of cancers up to five fold.

Lowers quality of breast milk.

Decreases immune response.

Decreases insulin response.

And here's the most disturbing fact.... HERE IS THE PART THAT IS VERY INTERESTING!

Margarine is but ONE MOLECULE away from being PLASTIC..

This fact alone was enough to have me avoiding margarine for life and anything else that is hydrogenated (this means hydrogen is added, changing the molecular structure of the substance).

You can try this yourself:

Purchase a tub of margarine and leave it in your garage or shaded area. Within a couple of days you will note a couple of things:

* no flies, not even those pesky fruit flies will go near it (that should tell you something)

* it does not rot or smell differently because it has no nutritional value ; nothing will grow on it. Even those teeny weeny microorganisms will not a find a home to grow. Why? Because it is nearly plastic . Would you melt your Tupperware and spread that on your toast?

funny you mention jarts, just thought about those the other day when I saw someone hanging a dartboard...the kids looked at me as if I came from Mars when I tried to explain what jarts were.

I knew it was bad, but not that it was nearly toxic.

Just had chat about this with the wife the other day as she grew up on the stuff and swears by it. I'll have to translate this for her....what a shame that my translation can not be half as bad as the margerine is.

Your post dosent apply to Margarine Made in Malaysia which is from **** oil. Indonesia is now becoming the second largest producer of **** oil in
the world.

The best in the world without all those side effects you mentioned.

The benefits are completely in reverse of what you posted.

What you posted must be a propaganda from other edible oil distillers.

i just use butter or lard.. no chemicals.. good ole plain animal fat that your body KNOWS what to do with since the caveman days.

Just like BUTTERMILK is not FATTENING.. its made from skim milk...

We could argue all day about manufactured anything and its effects on the enviroment and body... worse than religion.

its all in GOOD FUN these threads.. lets not start world war three!

Get your facts right first Blue before you point your finger.
dont mix what is happening in the Amazon jungle and what is happening in SEA.

In the Amazon they cut to turn them into grassland for cattle.

In SEA we cut and replant with **** trees which is reforestation but with a tree that is productive which produces not only oil but other by products and additives for the entire food and cosmetic industries and mechnical industries.

Do you think that food giants and almost all the fast food industry in USA like Mcdonalds, Kentucky Fried Chicken had switched to **** oil [which is vegetable oil in US] just for the fun of it

Stop the emmissions before the ice in the Poles melt and stop worring about our trees we know what to do and how to protect them.

A lot has 2 be said 4 traditions, teaching, theories & knowledge of SEA & its people. If the US govm´t and its mega-conglomerates were not so greedy & a bit more interested in the environment & it´s inhabitants they could still choke on the money they make without bringing the earths entire ecosystem to a spiraling downfall.
There exists almost nothing that is consumed in the US that was not created, constructed, produced or fabricated by force or exploitation.

Lets just talk about the present world crisis...a major int´l bank in one quarter having earned over 300,000 euros..... or
a petroleum company working at less than 80% capacity in it´s first qurter after the hurricane Katrina catastrophe making several hundred thousand dollars in PROFIT....
the Murdock´s of the world robbing multi-millions.....

if the US only handed out proper fines 4 abusing the environment & other infractions or invested 10% of theses absurd pofits into advancement & protection of the environment.

If the US Empire could ever get 2 be twice as old as the Asian (take ur pic of a country) it would have not learned 25% of what they have.....
because nobody gives a damn about anything else except money & more money.
