    Building one of those from scratch would require logging the users ip address into a database, setting up a system to time them out after inactivity and so on.

    The easiest way would be to use something like this website offers

    http://www.jstracker.com/

    It will do all the hard part for you, all you have to do is put some javascript into your webpage

    Register/Login Script
    Do you use a Password Protected Directory? Need a way to allow users to make their own account, try my .htaccess Login Script
