Got to be one of the best i have seen yet. Your doing a great job on the graphics. The only pain which is not your fault is viewing in FF. Got quite a bit of over lap on the text. I can see your trying to get the<h1> tag in & doing it via 2 input boxes. I know its a pain, but might have to make a bit more space & do it something like below. & pop it in an html box.
    Just an idea.
But on the good side the page is brilliant.

    <h1><font style="font-size:16px" color="#39321E" face="Arial"><b>THE TRAVEL GUIDE TO BACKPACKING SOUTH AFRICA</b></font></h1>
<font style="font-size:16px" color="#39321E" face="Arial">South Africa is fast becoming the destination of choice to global backpackers and adventure seekers, with plenty on offer for these new age independent travelers. Cape Backpackers features South Africa backpacker’s accommodation, adventure activities, travel information and tours. The Cape is the jewel of Africa and a tourist paradise incorporating wildlife, mountains, endless beaches, beautiful wine routes and an assortment of cultural heritage. From the untouched beaches, numerous harbours and waterfronts to the rugged unspoiled wilderness of the interior, the natural beauty of the Cape has something on offer for everyone.
The <b>BAS BUS</b> hop on hop off backpackers bus service is a convenient, flexible and safe way to see South Africa. Travelers can hop on and off the bus as often as they like along the route: Cape Town, .
Hermanus, Stellenbosch, Mossel Bay, Wilderness, Knysna, Plettenberg Bay, St Fransis Bay, Storms River, Jeffereys Bay, Port Elizabeth, Addo, Port Alfred, East London, Chinsa and Coffee Bay.</b></font></h1>

Hey your site looks fantastic and all appears okay in IE.

When I scroll over the head of the Bird on the right hand side my arrow turns into a link hand but there is no link.????

Some of your pages aren't loading but you may still be working on these.

    Great Graphics as Chris mentioned.

    Hi all,

Thanks for the birds heads up, it should not have been a link.
Chris, I'll rethink the FF overlapping.

    Thank You,

    Thanks Mike,
With the strength of the '$' against our currency, the only thing most Americans can't afford is 'the time'. LOL

I will never be a vaalie my friend. Born in and grew up in the EC.
PS. The Cheetahs now wants to play 13 men against the Blue Bulls in an attempt to do better than the Sharks with their 14. Just a petty we do not have a real rugby team in the esatern cape. Elephants can't play rugby....

Question: Do you take your own photos, or do you search for them?
    Bless you

My brother played for EP & Border (and now phyros classic boks) The animal photo's are all from my almost weekly trips to Addo Park (I love the area, so it's laptop, toothbrush and camera) and the rest, if any are from www.sxc.hu I have plenty of animal photos of my trips on there (it's a royalty free photo site)

And to the rest of our American VH friends, South Africa plays USA on Sunday at the rugby world cup.

    Hi WSBlue,

It's a site to promote backpacking South Africa, so the visitors haven't hit rugged Africa and dirtied up their gear. (yet) LOL
'Come to Africa - Enjoy your stay - Leave only footprints'

Great website! Looking at your site and thinking over comments I have received from you and others, I'm thinking of redesigning my site. I like your choice of colors, I assume your heading was made in logo with two text overlays. How close am I? I'm playing with ideas. You are an inspiration!! Thanks!

    Hi Tyson,

The whole site was designed in photoshop, but I went for a clean and simple look which I'm sure you could get close to *******ting: by layering BV features, in conjuction with 'logo'.

    Thanks Thirsty Andrew,

Just had a look at your new site again. It's becoming huge now and better all the time. 2nd page of Travel information: personal taste, but I would swop the next and previous page button positions.

Those are pretty old, as I'm battling to find time to upload the new ones. To rub salt... I'm in Addo for a week, camera in hand. I'll be amongst the Elephants tomorrow am.

    How's things!?
    Long time don't see you!
    Another great site! Congrats!
Was wondering what should I do to place a kiwi (the NZ bird) on my page but in a way that would look like your backpack. I mean with all the effects - shadows,etc...And the bird's beak would go down all the way to the menu...etc..
How did you do it? .....go ALL BLACKS!

Your tweeks are looking good on your site, I was on last week. Have you got a decent size pic to work with? I'll have a look at what i've got and post ASAP.

    Hi NZBR,
I put something together for you (hope it's what you had in mind) I use photoshop to put all my sites together (template and design) and them move to BV. It's relatively basic in any design program to erase background and add shadows or glow.

Anyway here's your header, I sliced the salmon rectangle behind your nav buttons and added mouse over alt text and sliced the kiwi for protection (against right click savers) I'll email you the full version. www.capebackpackers.com/nzbr_example.html

If it's what you had in mind. Pull it into BV file>>new page>>from existing HTML>>remote (internet)>>URL as above

    Enjoy,

Can see you r on line now!
Have just sent you an email.
Forgot to tell you that I think it's better if the kiwi is facing right (beak to the right side - the way I sent you the picts). You know what I mean?

Crazy day of rugby with NZ and Aus out of the running. I have a feeling that the USA team will feature plenty of Ausies and Kiwi's next World Cup (and they'll come cheap) LOL
