    Default Favicon

    I have been reading posts about how to make a favicon, but I cannot figure it out. Everything I read is a little too advanced for me, because many of them assume you know where to put the icon in the control panel and other things I guess I should know. Can anyone dumb down :) the process for me? I've made a .bmp that is 16x16 pixels, but that's as far as I've gotten. I don't really know what everything is in the control panel, so I'm not sure where to save the file. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

    Place your image on this site & it will change it to a favicon format "favicon.ico".
    Now! save & place this image file in the BV file uploaded on your page.
    Then place the code below in the page html under the "head" area.

    <link rel="shortcut icon" type="image/x-icon" href="/favicon.ico">

    ...now, this works for me but......
    right click on page
    open page properties
    next to the "Favorites Icon" window is a "browse" button
    from here you can upload your image that you want to use as a favicon
    voila!
    good luck,

    Sorry for being a pain, but I'm not sure where I need to save the image to. I'm not sure what this statement means -

    "save & place this image file in the BV file uploaded on your page"

    Do I save it on my computer with my BlueVoda documents/images, or do I need to go through my control panel?

    If an image is on your BV page, it will automatically be saved to the server when you publish the page. A favicon, however, is not actually on your page so you have to upload it by using the method ahimsa suggested. Your actual favicon artwork can be anywhere on your hard drive, because BV allows you to browse to it. Be aware that favicons can take anywhere from a minute or two to all day before they show up on your browser.

    PS--no cPanel in this process.

    Showing up fine hear in FF/G-chrome/Opera but not in IE? (Go figger eh!) Some browsers can be funny.
    Would also be worth reducing your page images to give a better look (Not so crinkly) & fast page loading times.
