Google verification upload file

Hi, I just created my sitemap and now have to upload the google verification file to my naked website URL. It does not tell you how to do it. If I use file manager it reflects in the home directory but if you hit the confirm successful upload of your file, it gives the 404 error message. How do I upload it to the correct location so google can verify?

Hi, please make sure that you are uploading the file into the public_html folder, otherwise this will not work. If you need assistance, please open a support ticket so we can look at your account!
