  • creating a second page and then put a link to access to that page

I would like to know clearly what are the steps to create a second page and then link it to my main page. I have an index. page for my site now i want to create a second page called privacy and have access to it from my main page my site presently has only one page. I have checked at the tutorials videos and others... but can't seem to do it right. i have tried this:

http://www.dietpillanalyst.com/privacy.html or php... i have tried different things and nothing works.

What are the steps. Please put the detailed steps from creating that second page to linking it with to the main page.

    Thanks

    Sergei

Re: creating a second page and then put a link to access to that page

I've checked that link and neither .html or .php have been published.

The page you have saved as 'privacy' PUBLISH it

Providing you haven't changed the page settings

    the link will be http://www.dietpillanalyst.com/privacy.html

If you had previously changed the page to php in page properties

then the link will be http://www.dietpillanalyst.com/privacy.php

    All the best

Re: creating a second page and then put a link to access to that page

All the steps are quite easy explained in this tutorial...

If you have created the page with all the content you want for your "privacy" page, then save the page as "privacy". Then publish that page.

Your link to the next page on your home page would then be

Re: creating a second page and then put a link to access to that page

Okay I'm having the same problem... I have one webpage. I want it to be my home page. Shouldn't I be naming it HOME so that when website viewer view my page they'll see HOME and not "index"??

Someone please detail where to go to save the page as home, how to create a second page that will link as "about us" page that will be on the same page?

Creating one page is easy... the hard part is attaching another page to it.

          This is weird.

Re: creating a second page and then put a link to access to that page

            Hi thousandfootk,

When a visitor enters your URL, for example,
            http://www.yourdomainname.com/, in the browser
address field with no mention of index or any other file,
the browser, in short, looks for index file on your server,
the index being all lower case with extension html or php.
            That's by default.

Google, with more than 72% market share as of the Fall of 2008,
prefers to have a descriptive title about not only the index page,
but all pages as well. The robots look at the title of the page and
can figure out what the page content is about.

Your first paragraph is the most important. It should have your keywords
in place such that the flow of the content is not disrupted.

To link to about us or any other page, you should go over the
            video tutorials.

It's simple. Just highlight the expression, click the link icon, enter the
            URL http://www.yourdomainname.com/about-us.html. Make sure your
target is empty. You can have it as a menu item. Before you do that,
            publish your about-us page.
