This tutorial will guide you on how to use the disk usage viewer in cPanel hosting. For the purpose of this guide, we'll presume that you're currently in cPanel hosting and therefore are viewing the primary display.
Let us begin to learn how to use the disk usage viewer in cPanel hosting. Scroll down the cPanel hosting screen and select Disk Space Usage under the Files category. Once you have selected Disk Space Usage, a display will open up of your Disk Space Usage page, on this page you can view how much storage space is being used by each directory and sub-directory in your account. If you scroll down the page you may view the whole list of directories.
-If you wish to view more details of the directories by selecting Show File Sizes as Bytes under the Action List box to the right of the screen. As you can see the file sizes have been converted from megabytes to bytes.
-If you select the + Increase Depth button, displays directories one level lower and if you select the - Decrease Depth button, displays directories one level higher.
-If you select Show Top Level under the Action List box to the right of the screen. This shows the top level of the websites. Once you have viewed the websites select the + Increase Depth button.
There are many ways to see the amount of storage space being used by your directories. You should use this in determining which directories are using the most storage space. As you learn where all your storage space is being used, you can delete some files or upgrade to a larger plan.
