Well as I discovered when attempting to do the same thing, there are no free programs out there for this. You can get trial versions but just like you say, only gives you so much, or others will give it all to you but will put ads across the videos .... so outside of someone who has a program you may need to purchase one ... AVS will give you a trial and will convert 70% of your movie with no ads to interfere .... So I ended up buying avs ... if you only have a couple and are easy enough to email, i could offer to convert them for you to .wmv wouldn't be a problem ...
EDIT .... I do believe they are too large to email .... an alternative for you at this time is uploading your videos, if they are under 50 mbs to utube and inserting the link ... just another option for you ....
