    meta tags question

My website is finally up. I have a good meta tag and a ton of great key words for searches. If i do a search to find my website it never comes up. In the keywords i separated each by a comma but there is no space between..is this my problem? Eg. computer, mouse, monitor and so on.

My thanks for any help. If it helps my website is www.diydatabase.net

    Re: meta tags question

Go to your Cpanel and checkout "awstats" to see if the search engine Bots has been visiting you site. Check out the keyphrases and tags while you are there.

Use words from the keyphrases to reorganize your tags.

What is most important is that people looking for your site can find it
    which is a good start.

If you use "Diy" and "database" as your main keyword and tag then you
will be competing with thousands of other websites. Be creative.

A good tip: place your domain as your signature for this forum. The search engine bots are constantly harvesting VodaTalk.

    Example:

    "Darc"
    www.siapamoyanganda.com/
Malaysian Family Tree Website From the
    State of Johor.

      Re: meta tags question

Read the ebook in my signature. Your meta keywords have nothing to do with what will come up in searches - but your PAGES do - have you used the keywords? Is there a reason why your site should come up ahead of the thousands and thousands of other sites out there for the same thing?

You need to do the work to move up in search engine searches. Simply building the site and putting words in the meta keywords is not going to do it. You need to rewrite your page title - you need headlines - you need the words in the text properly, etc.

Again, start out reading the ebook in my siggy.

Ditto with above, you also need to get the images optimized. your front page is around 3000kb & would be better around 300kb or less. Took around 30 seconds to load on the 1st visit.

        Good luck.

No lol - it might optimize the pictures for loading time. Read the ebook - optimizing the "site" means making it user and search engine friendly.

              Gotcha.

I have one huge picture that is my background. That probably isnt helping and is probably overkill. Any advice other then that on my homepage? The rest of the pages are still being worked on and i did read your basics Bethers...great advice.

Just curious to thoughts on the homepage or opinions, this is my first time hehe.

              Thanks

Wish there was a tool for this, lol. just in case! many forget to resize the physical size of the image as well as the DPI size when resizing. Pixresizer will do both. Have a look at the link below if your not sure. Good luck
