I have no clue how you'd even start this but can you put something together like on yahoo.. The users can do quizes and earn points ranks etc??? They get points for posting on forums etc??? would it even be possible??

Depending on which forum system you use there are modifications you can install to add points system to it. (With things like quizes, and points for posting)
