Need help selling

Hi-I would like to sell a short story I wrote-I think I need to load it into the public file, but, how do I get my customers to go to paypal and pay for it and then send them back to the page on mywebsitee to let them download it- If I just put it into the public file and send them there anyone can download it without paying, Right?
How would I do this?

You would need a special script to do that, which can be found doing a Google search amongst the numerous services that offer automatic digital delivery, single-use authorization Key (so the authorization cannot be shared or downloaded multiple times), and other options.
