Re: How to prevent webpage from being deface

There are many security measures that Voda Host puts in place to "HELP" keep your pages secure. However- you are responsible to ensure that all additional material, html coding, java scripts, php coding, and any other modifications that you implement- are secure. For example- forms that use php to process the data can be hacked UNLESS you add security measures to your coding.

So from that standpoint- if your site gets hacked it is most likely due to lax security measures on your part.

For the most part- there have been very little problems experienced or related on this forum about hacks.

    Hope that helps,

    Andy

Re: How to prevent webpage from being deface

My site has been hacked and I'm not sure what the next step is. The site is primarily used as a gamer website. It was hacked last week but had it fixed; however, now it was hit again by the same group. The site had php on it prio to getting hacked. Can anyone make suggestions to increase security on our site?

Re: How to prevent webpage from being deface

In most cases site hacking is due to security bugs of the uploaded scripts. A forum script or any other script that allows for uploads, can become a TroJan horse to let them into your site. That's why script authors keep updating their scripts all the time, but as Rce said, that's not enough, you need to keep informed on updates and upgrade your scripts to the latest, more secure versions.

all companies release script security patches on a weekly or monthly basis, it is your responsibility to make sure that your scripts are upto date.

After you update your script, I would change al my passwords.
